1. Traditional Publication

 

If we evaluate a manuscript (or existing book) and determine that we would desire to have your work become one of our branded "A Great Christian Book" publications (print, ebook, or both) then we would offer you the opportunity to have your work become published "traditionally". In such a traditional arrangement we invest in you and your work by bearing 100% of the costs involved in bringing your book to market-- that includes all relevant costs for the works of editing, book design, typesetting, cover design, introduction into sales channels, ISBN acquisition, marketing expenses, etc.-- these are entirely paid by us.

 

In exchange for our investment in you by paying all relevant expenses we would together enter into a Publishing Agreement in which you agree to grant all rights to us as the Publisher in exchange for remuneration by a royalty on each copy sold.

 

 

 

 

2. Sponsored Publication

If we deem a manuscript not to be suitable or desirable to be included among our "Great Christian Books" brand as a branded "A Great Christian Book" publication then we may offer you the very same high-quality publishing services that our GCB books receive except these services are provided at a reasonable cost to you. (We still maintain "acceptance standards" even for those opting to Sponsor their publication.*)

 

In a Sponsored arrangement you are investing in your work and your vision as an author/publisher by bearing all relevant costs. In a Sponsored Publication because you invest 100% in all the necessary components of the book's development then you retain all rights. In the case of Sponsored Publication, GCB acting as the "Publishing-Services-Provider" are simply paid for the work we do to deliver you a world-class publication that bears your name or imprint as the publisher. In over twenty-five years in the book industry we have helped many authors, author/publishers and publishers to create and manufacture beautiful, quality books in order to begin or maintain their publishing brand. All our services are available in any combination and as "a la carte" offerings, so you may opt for any or all of the necessary service components to bring your book to market-- whether it be editing, typesetting, interior book design, cover design, marketing materials, a website to sell your book from, ISBN acquisition, book registration, introduction into sales/distribution channel(s), etc. We do it all.** Keep in mind that there is never any obligation to receive a quote in the case of a project eligible for Sponsored Publication.

 

 

 

 

3. Co-Sponsored Publication

 

Occasionally we come across a work that falls in-between the cracks. That is, it meets our editorial and publishing standards and we would have no objection to its bearing the imprint of our publishing house-- "A Great Christian Book" but we are not desirous of making the total investment of 100% of the required costs to develop the book. Authors that understand the value of having their work published under the Great Christian Books brand and to be included among the books that we carry on our Great Christian Books website and offered to buyers through the distribution channels by which all our traditionally published GCB books are sold are prime candidates for this program. A book in this category would enjoy the status of a traditionally published work, bear our branding, and by that measure would be appear among our offerings as all our other traditionally published books.

 

A Co-Sponsored publication would be an arrangement in which you as the author/sponsor would invest in the costs to bring your book to market and we would co-sponsor by providing these costs at a discounted rate and by adding the value of our established brand of Great Christian Books to your publication and lending our reputation to your work. Your project would also enjoy all the status that any traditionally published work enjoys and the details of your sponsorship can remain a matter of confidence if so requested. In a Co-Sponsored publication because your work is indistinguishable to the book buying public from any other of our traditionally published books, and would carry our brand and reputation, a Publishing Agreement in which all rights are granted to Great Christian Books would need to be entered into but your remuneration would be at a higher royalty rate than a traditionally published book.

* Note: While we may accept for Sponsored Publication a work that does not agree with our theological standards for Traditional Publication, namely the standards of the Reformed faith, we will never accept a project for Sponsored Publication under any circumstances when the content refutes, objects to, contradicts, or otherwise denies the truths of the Apostle's and/or Nicene creeds in any place or advocates for Roman Catholic dogma.

 

 

** It is not unusual for authors to come to GCB for what we call a "make-over". Unfortunately, many first-time authors have initially sought publishing services from other providers that delivered less-than wonderful results. Not only were these authors unhappy with the outcome of the other provider's product but in many cases the work, most often cover design, was so unfortunate that it rendered their otherwise fine content commercially unmarketable. That is where GCB has stepped in and giving a new start to a poorly executed book is another service at which we excel.
